Maisha Armstrong, MBA
President and Founder
Maisha has a real passion for making a difference in her community. After working for years in Information Technology and Product Marketing, she left the corporate world for service in the nonprofit sector. She is committed to using her skills and abilities to help nonprofit organizations, businesses, government agencies and other organizations obtain necessary funding to achieve their goals and improve their communities.
Maisha specializes in crafting strong, mutually beneficial proposals to help organizations secure funding to meet their goals. To date, she has raised nearly $30 million in corporate, foundation and government funding for organizations.
Maisha’s professional experience spans more than 20 years and has included positions in Development, Marketing, Product Management and Information Technology with a range of for-profit and non-profit organizations, including Ford Motor Company, i2 Inc., Children’s National Health System and Food & Friends. Prior to starting MJ Consulting Group, she was Director of Development and Communications for the DC Primary Care Association (DCPCA), responsible for implementing the development and communications activities of the organization to increase awareness and obtain funding to support the work of DCPCA.
Maisha received her B.S. in Systems and Computer Science from Howard University and her M.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Georgia.
